NEWARK, DE -- Senior Andrew Zinn, who led the University of Delaware men's swimming and diving team to a decisive win over Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson Saturday afternoon, has been named the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Jan. 7.

Zinn (at right), a senior marketing major with a minor in economics from Wilmington, DE (McKean High School), led the Blue Hen swimmers (7-3) to a 186-101 victory over Towson at Rawstrom Natatorium Saturday afternoon as he had a hand in three first place finishes.

Zinn won the 50 freeestyle and 100 freestyle events and swam the final leg of the 200 medley relay team that took first place.

He raced to a time of 20.44 in the 50 freestyle to break his own record of 20.62 set earlier this season and broke the Rawstrom Natatorium record of 20.70 set by Matt Carrico of Northeastern in 1992-93.

He also swam to a time of 46.62 in the 100 freestyle and a clocking of 1:35.64 in the 200 medley relay.

Delaware will continue action this Saturday vs. Virginia Military Instititute at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA.
