NEWARK, Del. -- Sophomore goalkeeper Noelle Diana, who came up with two outstanding efforts in the cage to lead the University of Delaware field hockey team to the Colonial Athletic Association title last weekend, is the Army ROTC Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 9.

Diana, a sophomore pre-veterinary major from Flanders, N.J. (Mt. Olive High School), earned CAA All-Tournament honors as she led the No. 16 ranked Blue Hens to victories of 2-1 in overtime over 11th ranked James Madison in the semifinals and 1-0 over No. 10 Drexel in the championship game.

Drexel was the tournament's No. 1 seed and hosted the tournament in Philadelphia. The Hens avenged a 4-2 loss to the Dragons just a week earlier.

The victories gave Delaware its second CAA title since 2004 and earned the Hens (14-5) a spot in the NCAA Tourmament this weekend. Delaware will take on No. 6 Michigan State on Saturday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va.

Diana posted two saves in the win over James Madison and turned back a career-high 12 vs. Drexel, including several in the frantic final minutes.
