NEWARK, Del. -- Junior Christina Antonopoulos, who led the University of Delaware women's cross country team with an eighth place finish at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships Saturday, is the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Nov. 23.

Antonopoulos, an honor student as a biochemistry major with a minor in German from York, Pa. (York Suburban High School), led the Blue Hens to an eighth place finish in the ECAC meet held at Van Cortlandt State Park in the Bronx, NY.

The meet wrapped up the 2008 season for the Blue Hens, who were led by first-year head coach Jim Fischer.

Antonopoulos earned All-East honors for her finish as she covered the five-kilometer race in a time of 18:19. She led the Blue Hens four times in seven races during the 2008 season.
