NEWARK, Del. -- University of Delaware women's basketball freshman Lauren Carra, who led the Blue Hens to a second place finish at the Coors Rocky Mountain Invitational Tournament over the weekend, is the Army ROTC Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending November 30.

Carra, a freshman management information systems major from Dunmore, Pa. (Dunmore High School), earned a spot on the All-Tournament team as she led the Blue Hens to a first round win over Houston before falling in the title game to host Colorado State. The two-game tournament was held in Fort Collins, Colo.

Carra played a key part in the opening round 72-43 win over the University of Houston as she scored eight points, hit two three-pointers, collected two rebounds, and had one steal in 25 minutes of action.

In the championship game, she led all Blue Hen scorers with 14 points as she converted two three-pointers, grabbed a rebound, and registered four steals in 30 minutes of action.

She was joined the All-Tournament team by fellow Blue Hen freshman Elena Delle Donne, who scored 21 points in the win over Houston but did not play vs. Colorado State due to an ankle injury.

Delaware (2-2) heads to Columbia for a game Wednesday night, Dec. 2, in New York.

For the season, Carra is averaging 11.0 points per game to rank second on the squad.
