NEWARK, DE -- Senior guard Kyle DeHaven, who led the Blue Hens in two games at the Blue Sky Classic at Dartmouth University this past weekend, has been named the Wilmington Trust Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week for the period ending Dec 31.

DeHaven (at right), a senior guard from criminal justice major with a minor in sociology from Herndon, VA (Herndon High School), earned a spot on the Blue Sky All-Tournament team as she led the Blue Hens, who dropped games to nationally-ranked Arkansas and host Darmouth in the tournament.

DeHaven, a pre-season All-Colonial Athletic Association selection, scored six points, pulled eight rebounds, collected three steals, and dished two assists in the opener as the Blue Hens fell to No. 23 ranked (USA Today) and undefeated Arkansas 62-49.

In the consolation game, DeHaven scored 10 points, ripped down a career-high 10 rebounds, and added six steals in a hard-fought 49-41 setback to the host Big Green.

For the season, DeHaven is averaging 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game - which all lead the team.
