NEWARK, Del. -- For the fourth time this season, University of Delaware standout freshman women's basketball player Elena Delle Donne is the Army ROTC Best of the Blue Hens Athlete of the Week.

Delle Donne, who started the week by being named the 2010 Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year and endedit by leading the Blue Hens to the CAA Tournament semifinals, was honored for the week ending March 14.

Delle Donne, a 6-5 freshman guard/forward from Wilmington, Del. (Ursuline Academy) and an honor student as an early childhood education major with a focus in special education, continued to dominate the action as she scored 76 points in three CAA Tournament games at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va.

She scored 16 points and pulled five rebounds as the No. 5 seed Blue Hens knocked off No. 12 seed George Mason 58-41 in the opening round and followed with a 30-point performance as the Hens upset defending champion and No. 4 seed Drexel 67-61 in overtime in Friday's quarterfinals.

The Hens' ended their run on Saturday as Delaware fell to top-seed Old Dominion 50-49 in the semifinals. Delle Donne led the Hens once again with 30 points, including all 16 of her team's points in the second half.

Delle Donne, who was named to the CAA All-Tournament team for her efforts, finished the tournament averaging 24 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while converting five three-pointers and draining 25 of 31 free throw attempts. She currently ranks No. 2 in the nation in scoring with 26.8 points per game.

Delaware will hope to continue action as the Hens (22-11) are expected to earn a berth in the upcoming 64-team Women's National Invitational Tournament this week. The field will be announced Monday night, March 15.
