High School: Four-year letterwinner in baseball at Riverhead High School...also earned one varsity letter in football...helped Riverhead qualify for the playoffs as a senior for the first time since 1995...all-county and all-league selection as a junior, when he was also named team MVP...all-league selection as a sophomore...kicked a school-record 53-yard field goal in only season playing football...pitched for the Long Island Titans in the summer of 2003 under coaches Jim Clark and Eric Joyner...
