Temple (12-17-2) got out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning when the Owls got back-to-back doubles from Robert Cucinotta and Kyle Sweppenhiser that scored Cap Poklemba and Cucinotta. Delaware (18-12) tied the score at 2-2 in the bottom half of the inning when Casey Fahy (Clayton, Nj/Gloucester Catholic) walked and stole second base, immediately followed by a Gorecki (East Rockaway, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) triple, scoring Fahy. Gorecki scored on a Kolodzey (Cherry Hill, NJ/East) ground out to second. The Hens went ahead 4-2 in the third as Fahy again walked and stole second base (team-leading 20th stolen base). He scored on an Andrew Salvo (East Islip, NY/St. Anthony's) double to left center field. Kolodzey followed with his team-leading fourth triple, driving home Salvo. Temple took the lead in the fourth when Cucinotta hit a three-run line-drive homerun off of starting pitcher Tim Lorito (Huntington Station, NY/Connetquote), which put the Owls up for good, 6-4. Temple starting pitcher Mike Caron pitched a complete game, giving up five runs and seven hits. Of the seven hits for the Hens, five were for extra bases as Maestrales (Delray Beach, FL/Pope John Paul II) had two doubles and Dufner (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) added another. Fahy had two singles on the day. Delaware will return to action tomorrow as it travels to Maryland-Baltimore County for 2:30 p.m. start. The Hens will next return to Delaware Diamond on Saturday as they host America East foe Hofstra in a doubleheader that begins at 12:00 noon. AGATE
