Delaware 15, Temple 1 April 9, 2002 Blue Hens hammer out eight extra-base hits in rout John Schneider betled his 5th HR and 10th double of the season in the game NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware slugged eight extra-base hits, including four home runs, to drop Temple University 15-1 in a non-conference baseball game that was called in the the eighth inning due to rain Tuesday afternoon at Bob Hannah Stadium. The Blue Hens (16-14) built a big lead early in the second inning as Kris Dufner (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) ripped a two-run double, and John Schneider (Lawrenceville, NJ/Lawrenceville) followed by hitting a two-run home run, highlighting a two-out five -run rally that gave Delaware more than enough cushion to put the Owls away. Schneider would finish the game 3-for-4, adding a double to go with his fifth home run of the year, and Reid Gorecki (East Rockaway, NY/Kellenberg Memorial) scored four runs in going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and two stolen bases, while extending his current hitting-streak to eight games. On the mound, Scott Rambo (Downingtown, PA/Downingtown) picked up the victory allowing just one run run and three hits, striking out four batters over four scheduled innings of work. Offensively for Temple (11-13) John Quigely batted 2-for-3 with a double and a stolen base, while Sam Sabolchick scored the team's only run on Al Roach's sacrifice fly.
