George Washington 8, Delaware 7 April 22, 2003 Three run rally gives George Washington 8-7 win over visiting Delaware ARLINGTON, VA -- George Washington catcher Joe Michalski hit a game-winning homerun in the bottom of the ninth inning completing a three run rally for an 8-7 victory over the University of Delaware in a non-league baseball game today at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA. Ryan Roberson led off the bottom half of the ninth with a solo homer to cut the Blue Hen lead to 7-6. The Colonials followed with back-to-back singles. Geoff Milsom then popped into a double play which brought Michalski to the plate and he drove a shot to left field for a two-run walk-off homer. The Hens took the lead in the fifth inning on an RBI double by senior shortstop Kris Dufner scoring freshman second baseman Todd Davison for a 4-3 lead. Delaware would tack on another run in the inning on a RBI ground out by senior first baseman Steve Harden. Freshman third baseman Brent Rogers put the Hens up 7-3 on a three-run homer in the sixth but George Washington fought back with two runs of its own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to 7-5. Dufner, who played in his 200th career game at UD, joining teammate Steve Harden on the list, reached base on all five plate appearances including three hits while sophomore left fielder Brock Donovan went 2-for-4. George Washington (25-11) also defeated Delaware 5-2 back on March 13.
