Delaware 4, UMBC 3 May 6, 2003 Ryan Dulaney pitches complete game seven hitter in the victory BALTIMORE, MD - Junior center fielder Steve Van Note drove in the game-winning run in the eighth inning with a sacrifice fly sending the University of Delaware to a 4-3 come from behind victory over the University of Maryland Baltimore County Tuesday afternoon at Alumni Field in Baltimore, MD. Senor righty Ryan Dulaney went the distance for his second complete game of the season allowing only seven hits and three runs while striking out six to improve his record to 3-1. UMBC scored all three of its runs in the fifth inning to lead 3-0 and the lead would hold up until the top half of the seventh inning. The Hens pushed across their first run of the game on an RBI double to center field by senior right fielder Doug Eitelman. The next batter, senior designated hitter Matt Wimer drove in a run as he reached on an error by the Retrievers' shortstop while freshman catcher Brian Valichka tied the game 3-3 as he plated Eitelman on a fielder's choice. Senior left fielder Nick DeCarlo went 2-for-4 on the afternoon with a run scored while Van Note and Eitelman each went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Kevin Brooks and Kyle Wildasin each had two hits for UMBC (15-24).
