2004: Saw action in 16 games while making five starts • posted a 1-3 record and an 8.23 ERA • pitched 42 innings and struck out 24 batters. High School: Earned three letters at Northern High School and served as a two-year co-captain • went 8-0 with a 1.20 ERA and 75 strikeouts in 49 innings as a senior, leading his team to the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) title • selected to Washington Post All-Extra Team as a senior and was a second team All-SMAC and All-Met selection • All-County MVP as a senior • posted three wins with a 2.02 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 44.2 innings as a junior • played for the Maryland Orioles in the summer of 2003, going 4-2 with a 2.72 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 38.2 innings as the team won the 2003 NABF Regional Championship.
