OVER, DE -- The University of Delaware baseball team racked up 14 runs on 18 hits on its way to a 14-3 win over Delaware State University Tuesday afternoon at Soldier Field.

Bryan Hagerich (right) had three hits and six RBI for the Hens, including his second straight two homer game. Every member of the Delaware lineup had reached base by the third inning, and all but one hitter scored at least one run.

The Blue Hens batted around and scored four runs in the top of the first. With two on and one out, Hagerich launched his 10th home run of the season deep over the wall in leftcenter for a 3-0 Delaware lead. The hit gave Hagerich 200 for his career, the 29th player to reach the 200 hit plateau. Later in the inning, Danny Overcash doubled off the very top of the wall in left to score Adam Tsakonas and give the Hens a 4-0 lead.

Delaware added two more via the long ball in the third inning. After Scott Shockley drew a one out walk, Ryan Engelhardt blasted his second home run of the season to left to put the Hens up 6-0.

In the fourth the Hens added two more runs when Tsakonas' first home run of the year also scored Hagerich to give the Hens an 8-0 lead.

Hagerich's second home run of the day, a shot to straight away centerfield, put Delaware up 10-0 in the top of the sixth.

Mike McGuire started and struck out six in three innings to pick up his first win. Kevin Brown, Matt Heppner and Steve Miklas combined to shut the Hornets down the rest of the way. Anthony Gibbons took the loss for Delaware State.

The Blue Hens return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Rutgers at 3 p.m.
