Bill Merkler then launched Smith’s 2-0 pitch deep over the scoreboard in left centerfield for his fifth home run of the season, putting the Hens up 4-0. Kyle Davis’ single with runners on the corners with two outs scored Scott Shockley with the fifth Delaware run of the first. Smith’s second wild pitch of the inning then scored Danny Overcash and moved Davis to second, before Ryan Jablonski grounded out to end the inning. In all, the Hens scored six runs on seven hits and two Northeastern wild pitches.
