2008: Appeared in 14 games with two starts as a redshirt freshman • roped four hits and knocked in three runs in 15 at bats • earned his first career start as a designated hitter against Northeastern on March 15 • also cracked the starting lineup as an outfielder against Lafayette on April 2 • went 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored against Saint Joseph’s on March 25 • roped a single and knocked in a run against Temple on May 7 while also chipping in with a pinch-hit single against George Mason on April 27 • stole his first career base against Virginia Commonwealth on May 15 after entering the game as a pinch runner.
2007: Redshirted the season and retained freshman eligibility.
High School: Four-year letterwinner in baseball and three-year letterwinner in football at Concord High School • two-time all-state selection and four-time first team all-conference honoree for coach Mark Mayer • two-time team captain • compiled a 32-5 record and two state championships as the quarterback at Concord • National Honor Society member.
Personal: Todd Richard Menchaca • son of Richard and Sherry Menchaca • middle of three sons • older brother Brandon was an All-American outfielder at Delaware in 2005-07 and is currently in the Cincinnati Reds organization • enjoys hunting and the outdoors • finance major at Delaware.
