At Delaware: Will miss the 2002 season due to a back injury...transferred to Delaware after two seasons at Manhattan College...expected to be a key member of staff in 2003....will have two years of eligibility upon his return.

At Manhattan: 2001: Appeared in 21 games with three starts...was 0-2 with a 3.10 ERA...2000: Appeared in 14 games with three starts as a freshman...was 0-6 with a 7.30 ERA.

High School: Four-year member of varsity squad at Xavieran High School...played pitcher and first base...led team to CHSAA championship in both 1997 and 1999...earned All-City honors in 1999.

Personal: Thomas John Turner...born Dec. 4, 1981 in Brooklyn, NY...son of Tom and Cathy Turner..father is a retired New York City fireman...arts & sciences major at Delaware.
