At Delaware: Transferred to Delaware from University of Georgia prior to Fall 2001 semester....expected to earn starting berth in centerfield, replacing Philadelphia Phillies draft pick Vince Vukovich...has great size and will be expected to be a big run-producer for Blue Hens.

At University of Georgia: 2001: While a member of Georgia's College World Series squad, appeared in 10 games as a redshirt freshman... was 0-for-8 at the plate with two strikeouts...team went 45-17 and captured the SEC title...2000: Sat out redshirt season at Georgia.

High School: All-state and All-South Jersey honoree at Atlantic City High School as a shortstop...also lettered in football and basketball...hit .556 as a senior at Atlantic City with five home runs and 32 RBI...finished his high school career as a .448 hitter with 16 HRs and 106 RBI to go with 45 stolen bases...was named team's Most Valuable Player all four years...school's Scholar-Athlete of the Year and National Honor Society member....all-league pick in basketball who led team to Group IV state title...All-State and All-South Jersey wide receiver in football.

Personal: Steven David Van Note...born Feb. 3, 1981...son of Steve and Ruth Van Note... arts and sciences major at Delaware...enjoyed golding and hunting in spare time.
