2009: Led Delaware with 21 appearances and ranked first among qualifying pitchers with a 3.88 ERA • went 5-4 and posted 48 strikeouts in 46.1 innings of work • led the squad with a 2.8 strikeout-to-walk ratio • started in his first three appearances of the season before transitioning to the bullpen • earned victories in two of his three starts with wins against Longwood on February 21 and Manhattan on March 7 • after moving to the bullpen, he earned three saves during the season • tossed two scoreless frames against Wilmington on March 17 for his first career save • picked up his second of the season after getting the final two outs of a 6-4 victory over Maryland on May 12 and his third after 2.2 strong innings of work against VCU on May 15 • struck out a season-high six batters in three spotless frames of relief against Penn on March 31 • also earned victories against Marist on March 13, Towson on March 20, and James Madison on April 19 • struck out four in back-to-back appearances against the Dukes on April 17 and 19 • fired two scoreless frames on the second day of the CAA Tournament to seal a victory over Northeastern.
2008: Made 16 appearances and seven starts for the Blue Hens • led all freshmen in starts while ranking second in appearances • finished third on the team with 49.1 innings of work • posted a 3-3 record, picking up victories in back-to-back outings against Rutgers and Temple on April 9 and 15 before returning to beat the Owls on May 7 • worked a season-high six innings against George Mason, striking out five while allowing just four hits • also struck out five against Rutgers and added four in just his second career appearance against Princeton on March 1 • finished the season strong, firing two scoreless innings against Maryland in his last appearance on May 13 • played with the Quakertown Blazers of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League during the summer • finished second on the team with four wins, six starts, and 35.2 innings pitched.
High School: Four-year letterwinner at Hatboro-Horsham High School for coach Pete Moore • served all four years as a starting pitcher and saw time in the outfield • Honorable Mention All-American in 2007 • first team All-League pick as a senior after earning honorable mention honors the previous three years • appeared in Sports Illustrated’s “Faces in the Crowd” on April 16, 2007.
