High School: Two-year starter at Arcadia High School after starring at Chaparral High during his first two seasons • split time between second, third, and centerfield • posted a .438 batting average with 46 runs scored as a junior • earned first-team All-Region honors in 2008 • also competed for the All-Star Baseball Academy that qualified for the Mickey Mantle and Connie Mack World Series • started as a center on the Chaparral hockey team and led the squad to the 2007 state championship as well.
Personal: Henry Francis Yates • son of David and Martha Yates • has five older siblings, Erin, Sharon, Emily, Maura, and Mark • father played baseball at Delaware and was a member of the 1970 team that advanced to the College World Series • wears No. 31 on the bill of his cap in memory of a deceased teammate • enjoys playing golf in his spare time • majoring in sports management at Delaware.
