Coach Casey Fahy

Former
standout Blue Hen outfielder Casey Fahy
(pronounced "Fay") is in his second year
as a volunteer assistant coach at the
University of Delaware for the 2005
season.
He serves
as the outfielders coach and assists with
base running. A New Jersey native, he had
an outstanding three-year career as an
outfielder at Delaware and graduated in
2002 with a degree in history. He played
one season at George Mason in 1999 before
transferring to Delaware.
In his
senior season at Delaware in 2002, Fahy
established a new single-season school
record with 40 stolen bases. His 40 steals
led the Colonial Athletic Association and
were seventh best in all of NCAA Division
I.
He
finished his Delaware career with 79
stolen bases in 90 attempts (an 87.7
percent success rate) and a .316 batting
average, including a mark of .338 during
his senior year. He was a second team
All-CAA selection as an outfielder in 2002
and also earned CAA Player of the Week
honors that same season.
Fahy, 25,
attended Gloucester Catholic High School
and had 110 hits, 123 runs scored, and 102
stolen bases in his high school career. As
a senior, Fahy was an all-conference,
all-Parochial Group, all-South Jersey, and
all-state selection. He was also a USA
Today All-American honorable mention
as a senior after hitting .632 and
stealing 42 bases without being caught. He
led the team to the 1996 state
championship.
After
graduating from Delaware, Fahy spent the
2002-2003 school year as a teacher and an
assistant baseball coach at Delsea (NJ)
High School.
Fahy is
single and resides in Clayton,
NJ.
