Trick In 7-0 Win Over MonMouth

NEWARK,
DE-- University of Delaware field hockey
senior Lauren Carr (right) scored a hat
trick in the Hen's 7-0 win over Monmouth
University tonight, marking the largest
margin of victory for Delaware since the
opening game at Rullo Stadium, an 8-0
victory over Lehigh University on
September 9, 1998.
The
victory improves the Hen's record to 2-1
while the Hawks drop to 1-2.
Carr
led the way for Delaware, scoring three
goals and adding and assist. Only 17 other
players have recorded a hat trick in
Delaware history. This is the first hat
trick since teammate Jessi Balmer last
season against Villanova on September 2,

A
quartet of players contributed one goal
earning the win, including Erica LaBar,
Leah Geib, Amanda Warrington, and Katie
Evans as the Blue Hens outshot the Hawks
36-2.
Amber
Deimler recorded an assist while Megan
Allen posted her second straight shutout,
and seventh of her career.
Delaware's
next game will come on September 5 at
Princeton. The game is set to begin at 2
p.m.
