of No. 14 Delaware Defeated by Penn 2-1 in
Field Hockey

DE--(Septemer 26, 2004) The 14th-ranked
University of Delaware field hockey team
was stunned in a 2-1 defeat to Penn Sunday
at Rullo Stadium as Amanda Warrington
(Lewes, DE/Cape Henlopen) (right) recorded
the lone Blue Hen goal.
Sara
Shelley began the games scoring at 11:46
for the Quakers off an assist by Elizabeth
Lorelli.
Warrington's
goal came at 34:03 off an assist by Lauren
Carr (West Chester, PA/Downingtown) to tie
the game at one just before the
half.
Penn's Lea
Salese scored the game-winner at 36:49 on
a penalty corner with assists going to
Sara Shelley and Cara Calahan
Delaware,
who is now 5-4 on the season, face Rutgers
University at Rutgers on September 29 at
7:30 p.m.
