Field Hockey Ends Season No. 17 in
STX/NFHCA National Coaches

NEWARK,
DE-- The University of Delaware field
hockey team finished the 2004 regular
season No. 17 in this week's STX/NFHCA
Division I National Coaches Poll released
Tuesday.
The
Blue Hens are one of three teams in the
Colonial Athletic Association to be ranked
in the poll including No. 13 William &
Mary and No. 9 Old Dominion
Delaware
ended it's regular season 13-6 (5-2 CAA)
October 30 by defeating Towson University,
1-0.
In
the Womensfieldhockey.com poll, Delaware
improved to No. 17 this week while William
& Mary continued to stay locked at No.
13 and Old Dominion fell to No.
9.
The
Blue Hens travel to Williamsburg, VA this
weekend as the third seed in the CAA
tournament. The winner of the tournament
is guaranteed a berth in the NCAA
tournament. Delaware faces second seed Old
Dominion in the first round on Saturday at
2:30 p.m.
