NEWARK, DE -- Juli Byrd scored twice and Rachel Barger and Mia Callahan celebrated Senior Night by scoring goals as Delaware blanked Drexel, 4-0, in field hockey action Saturday night at Rullo Stadium.

With the win and Maine's overtime loss to New Hampshire earlier in the day, the Blue Hens (9-8, 4-3) clinched a spot in the America East Tournament Nov. 5 and 7. The four-team tournament will be held at Boston University's Nickerson Field with the winner receiving an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Barger, a senior from Springfield, VA, opened the scoring 10:31 into the game with an unassisted goal. Her 17th career goal and fifth this season gave Delaware a 1-0 lead.

Callahan, a senior from Contoocook, NH, followed that with her seventh goal of the season with 10:09 remaining in the first half. Her tenth career goal gave the Blue Hens a 2-0 lead.

Byrd then added her seventh and eighth goals of the season for the final margin. Her first tally of the night came off of a penalty corner with 4:25 remaining in the first half. She followed that up with an unassisted goal with 15:48 left in the game.

Kelly Ottati and Andrea Grasso shared the shutout for Delaware. Ottati, a senior from Hampton Bays, NY recorded two saves before leaving the game with three minutes remaining for her senior curtain call. Grasso recorded one save in her first collegiate appearance. Drexel's Heather Haigh recorded nine saves.

Drexel fell to 8-9, 3-4 in America East with the loss. Delaware outshot Drexel, 19-6.

The Blue Hens travel to Lafayette Monday for a 3 p.m. match-up.
