NEWARK, DE -- Quan Nim's unassisted goal with the 27:16 remaining in the second half broke a 1-1 tie as No. 10 Iowa spoiled the home-opener for No. 20 Delaware, 3-1, in field hockey action Sunday.

Nim scored off of her own rebound in a scurry in front of the net to give the Hawkeyes (6-0) a 2-1 lead.

Anita Miller added an insurance goal with 18:08 to play to give Iowa a two-goal lead. Miller broke in and fired a shot past Delaware keeper Kelly Ottati from the left wing.

The teams traded goals off of penalty corners in the first half. The Hawkeyes scored first just over 13 minutes into the game when Tiffany Fodera found the net off of a corner.

Delaware (3-2) tied the game when Juli Byrd scored off of a Blue Hen penalty corner with 5:19 remaining in the half. It was her team-leading fourth goal of the season. Rachel Barger and Jen Fotiou assisted on the tally, extending Barger's point-streak to five consecutive games.
