EASTON, PA -- Lafayette College
snapped the University of Delaware's five-game winning
streak and halted the Hens' shutout string with a 3-0 win in
field hockey action Monday afternoon.
Lafayette (15-1) ended Delaware's shutout
string at 308 straight minutes when Megan Monahan scored an
unassisted goal with 21:52 remaining in the first half for a
1-0 Leopard lead.
The Leopards then scored twice within a
1:41 span midway through the second half on a pair of goals
by Kellee Salber.
Lafayette's Amy Cohen had six saves in
recording the shutout. Delaware's Kelly Ottati had
eight saves in net for Delaware.
The Blue Hens (9-9) outshot Lafayette,
13-12, and held a 13-6 advantage in penalty corners,
including 11-1 in the second half.
Delaware will close out the regular
season with a trip to New England over the weekend, taking
on New Hampshire Friday afternoon and Maine on
Sunday.
