PHILADELPHIA -- Sara Hills had a goal and an assist and Kelly Ottati recorded her second shutout of the season as Delaware defeated Temple, 2-0, in field hockey action Wednesday afternoon. After the teams played a scoreless first half, Delaware, 3-1 and ranked No. 20 in the NFHCA Division I poll this week, waisted little time after the intermission getting on the board. Just 3:14 into the second half, Hills recorded her first goal of the season and eighth of her career off of a pass from Mia Callahan. It remained a 1-0 game until Juli Byrd found the net with 13:10 left in the game. Byrd scored her second goal of the season with assists from Hills and Rachel Barger to put the game out of reach. Ottati recorded two saves in notching her second career solo shutout. With the loss, Temple drops to 1-4 on the season. Delaware returns for its home opener against No. 10 Iowa Sunday at 12 noon at Rullo Stadium.
