BOSTON - Rachel Stillings' goal with
19:29 left in the first half broke a 1-1 tie as No. 2 seed
Boston University defeated third-seeded Delaware, 2-1, at
Nickerson Field Friday night in an America East Fiedl Hockey
Tournament semifinal.
The Terriers, 14-7, advance to face
top-seeded New Hampshire Saturday at 1 p.m. New Hampshire
survived its semifinal by turning away No. 4 seed Drexel,
3-2, in penalty strokes.
Boston University started the scoring
when Jane Rogers scored 5:16 into the contest to put the
Terriers on top.
Just under seven minutes later, Megan
McGuin tied the game for Delaware. McGuin's third goal of
the season came with 22:48 left.
However, Stillings' goal off of a Robyn
Kenney feed gave the Terriers a lead just 3:19 later and
they held on to advance to the title game for the eighth
time in 11 tournaments.
Delaware finishes the season
8-12.
