HEMPSTEAD, NY -- Jessica Breault and Kelly Coyle each scored first-half goals as Delaware kept pace with New Hampshire and moved back into a tie for first place atop America East with a 2-1 win over Hofstra at Hofstra Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The Blue Hens raised their record to 7-8 overall and 4-1 in America East action to move back into a tie for first with New Hampshire, which had beaten Vermont, 6-2, in Durham, NH on Saturday. Boston University, which stepped out of league for a pair of games this weekend, is in third place with a 5-2 mark in conference play, percentage points behind the front-runners.

Breault, a freshman from Southbury, CT, scored unassisted to open the scoring. Her goal with 26:10 remaining in the first half was her seventh of the season and gave Delaware a 1-0 lead.

Coyle, a sophomore from Lawrenceville, NJ, gave Delaware a 2-0 lead off a feed from Katie Phillips. The tally, which came with 14:29 left in the first half, was the first of Coyle's collegiate career.

Hofstra got one back in the second half with 17:14 remaining when Tara Sterlacci scored off a pass from Tricia-Ann Greaves.

However, Stephanie Judefind and the Delaware defense held Hofstra in check the rest of the day. Judefind, a sophomore from Wilmington, DE, recorded five saves in picking up the win.

Delaware outshot Hofstra (6-10, 3-4) for the game, 10-6.

The Blue Hens step out of conference Wednesday night when they travel to Princeton to face the seventh-ranked Tigers. Game time is 7 p.m.
