IOWA CITY, IA -- Tiffany Fodera
had a hat trick and Jessica Zosky had four assists as Iowa
defeated Delaware, 6-1, in field hockey action at The Big
East Challenge.
Fodera's three tallies accounted for four
the goals the Hawkeyes (5-4) scored off of penalty corners.
Iowa scored on four of seven penalty corners in the game.
Entering the game, Delaware was 50 for 52 in killing off
corners this season.
Delaware's lone goal came on an
unassisted tally by senior Katie Phillips with 26:50
remaining in the game. It was the first collegiate goal for
the Downingtown, PA native. However, it came after Iowa had
a built a 4-0 lead on two goals by Fodera and tallies by
Tiffany Luster and Gina Carr.
Delaware (2-5) will open the conference
season next Friday with a 5:30 p.m. contest at
Northeastern.
