NEWARK, DE -- The University of Delaware
field hockey team's rally fell short Sunday in a 4-3 loss to
Maine at Rullo Stadium.
The Blue Hens trailed 4-1, but rallied
late on a pair of goals by Stacey Thomas, including her
second with just :01 remaining.
Maine (8-11, 3-5 America East) used a
pair of goals by freshman Rebecca Ouellett and tallies by
Jen Johnstone and Kristi Knights to jump out to its three
goal lead.
Delaware freshman Jessica Breault also
added a goal for her eighth tally of the season.
The Blue Hens (8-11, 5-3) will face
Boston University in the America East semifinals Thursday
evening at Nickerson Field in Boston. The game time will be
determined on Monday.
