NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Andrea
Grasso recorded her first collegiate shutout and Jenn
Fotiou had a goal and an assist as Delaware blanked
Temple, 3-0, in field hockey action at Rullo Stadium
Wednesday afternoon.
Fotiou, a senior from Oley, PA, got the
scoring started with an unassisted tally. The goal at 19:03
was Fotiou's second of the season and sixth of her
career.
The Blue Hens (2-3) extended their lead
to 2-0 with 3:12 remaining in the first half when junior
Juli Byrd scored off of a penalty corner. The goal,
Byrd's fourth of the season and 20th of her career, was
assisted by Fotiou and Megan Fortunato.

Fortunato had a hand in the Hens' final
goal, as well. The senior from Willow Grove, PA dished off
to Kim Wagaman (Oley, PA) for an insurance goal with
just 41 seconds remaining. The goal was the first of
Wagaman's collegiate career.
Grasso, a native of Haddonfield, NJ
(Haddon Twp. HS), recorded three saves, all in the first
half. Her counterpart, Serene McGrath, had four saves for
Temple (2-3).
Delaware heads to Iowa this weekend to
start a four-game road trip. The Blue Hens face Ohio
University Saturday and Iowa Sunday at the Big East
Challenge in Iowa City, IA.
