nets two goals in the
victory

TOWSON, MD -- Senior Juli Byrd scored
twice leading the University of Delaware to its third
straight America East conference victory dropping Towson
University 3-0 at Minnegan Stadium Sunday
afternoon.
Byrd (Pocomoke, MD/Pocomoke) put the Blue
Hens on the board with 5:46 to go in the first half
finishing a penalty corner assisted by Jenn Fotiou and Kelly
Coyle. Byrd would add her second goal of the game off a
penalty shot with less than three minutes remaining in the
game.
Fotiou added a goal to go along with her
assist and Heidi Hibshman stopped fives shots to record her
second shutout of the season in the net for Delaware (11-6,
5-3 America East).
Loren Wolf turned away 10 shots in goal
for the Tigers (3-14, 0-7) who remain winless in 22 meetings
all-time against the Blue Hens.
Delaware is on the road once again
Wednesday as they travel to College Park, MD to face the
No.2 ranked University of Maryland at 7:30 p.m.
