Blue Hens Upended

NEWARK, DE -- Tiffany Snow scored
three second-half goals and Melissa Leonetti and Angie Loy
each added two assists as No. 4 Old Dominion downed No. 17
Delaware Sunday afternoon at Rullo Stadium,
5-1.

is mobbed by her teammates after scoring the first
goal of the game.

Sophomore Leah Geib (Schwenksville,
PA) opened the scoring for the Blue Hens (6-5), knocking
home a rebound off a shot from sophomore Erica LaBar (New
Castle, DE) to give the Blue Hens an early 1-0 lead, but
Old Dominion (11-2) stormed back, as Jennifer Angat scored
just over a minute later to tie the score at one.
Loy scored the game-winner 32 seconds
later, taking the face off and going through the Delaware
defense before beating goalkeeper Stephanie Judefind
(Wilmington, DE) for the goal.
Mary Cate Gordon made six saves for Old
Dominion, while Judefind made nine saves for Delaware.
Sophomore Heidi Hibshman (Lititz, PA) played 19:45 of the
second half for UD, but did not register a save.
The Blue Hens return to action on
Wednesday, October 9, when they travel to New Jersey to take
on No. 14 Princeton. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
