Breault's Six Points Propel Blue Hens to Victory

NEWARK, DE -- Junior Jessica Breault (Southbury, CT) scored two goals and added two assists as the University of Delaware field hockey team defeated Hofstra, 5-0, in a conference game Friday night at Rullo Stadium.

Jessica Breault scored twice and added two assists in the Delaware victory

After sophomore Erica LaBar (New Castle, DE) gave the Blue Hens (8-9, 2-3) a 1-0 lead at the 5:58 mark, sophomore Lauren Carr (West Chester, PA) scored her third goal of the season to give Delaware a two-goal lead heading into halftime.

The Blue Hens continued the offensive onslaught in the second half, scoring three times in a span of 8:05, as freshman Amber Deimler (Hershey, PA) scored her first career goal, sandwiched around Breault's two tallies.

Senior Stephanie Judefind (Wilmington, DE) stopped five Hofstra shots en route to her seventh win of the season and sixth shutout.

The Blue Hens return to action on Sunday when they host CAA rival Drexel in the team's final home game of the 2002 season. Delaware will also honor its six seniors - Kim Wagaman, Kelly Coyle, Stephanie Dorsch, Stacey Thomas, Stephanie Judefind and Katie Kelly - during a pre-game ceremony. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
