Blue Hens Snap
Four-Game Losing Skid With Upset of
Dukes
HARRISONBURG, VA -- Sophomore
Erica LaBar (New Castle, DE) scored the only goal of
the game just over twenty minutes into the second half as
the University of Delaware field hockey team stunned No. 7
James Madison, 1-0, Friday evening in Harrisonburg,
VA.
The win snapped the Blue Hens' four-game
losing skid, their longest of the season.
Senior co-captain Kelly Coyle
(Lawrenceville, NJ) inserted the ball to fellow senior
co-captain Kim Wagaman (Oley, PA), setting up LaBar
for her team-leading eighth tally of the season.
Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Judefind
(Wilmington, DE) made six saves in the win.
The Blue Hens (7-8, 1-2 CAA) return to
action Sunday afternoon when they travel to Richmond, VA to
battle the Rams of Virginia Commonwealth. Game time is set
for 1 p.m.
