Labar scores fourth goal of season for No. 20 Delaware

NEWARK, DE -- Sophomore Erica LaBar scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season and senior Kim Wagaman dished out two assists to lead the No. 20 Delaware field hockey team to a 4-0 victory over visiting LaSalle (2-2) on Tuesday night at Rullo Stadium.

LaBar, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association player of the week, opened the scoring at 16:50 of the first-half, scoring off a penalty corner. Senior Kelly Coyle and Wagaman picked up assists on the play.

Sophomores Jessi Balmer and Lauren Carr added unassisted goals to give the Blue Hens a 3-0 lead heading into halftime. Junior Erin Shaklee closed the scoring when she one-timed a pass from Wagaman passed LaSalle goalkeeper Colleen Bolger to give Delaware a 4-0 advantage.

Senior Stephanie Judefind and sophomore Heidi Hibschman combined for the Blue Hens' third shutout of the season.

The win marked the 18th straight victory for Delaware (4-1) over LaSalle.

Delaware returns to action on Saturday when it takes on No. 7 Wake Forest in Louisville, KY at 1 p.m. They will also play at No.4 Louisville on Sunday at 1 p.m.
