William & Mary 3, Delaware 2 (2 OT)

WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- Ann Ekburg's second goal of the game with 3:51 remaining in the second overtime lifted William & Mary to a 3-2 win over Delaware in Colonial Athletic Association field hockey actio at Rullo Stadium.

Ekburg scored with 9:56 left in regulation to tie the game, 2-2. She followed that up with the game-winner off of a feed from Kristen Southerland.

William & Mary (8-7, 4-1) held a 1-0 lead at intermission before Delaware stormed back to start the second half. Erin Shaklee tied the game 6:29 into the second half when she deflected an Erica LaBar shot past keeper Claire Miller to tie the game, 1-1.

Delaware (7-9, 1-3) took a 2-1 lead a little more than six later when Jessica Breault scored on a breakaway.

The loss was Delaware's third overtime loss this season.

Delaware will host Hofstra next Friday night at 7 p.m. in a key game for both teams trying to qualify for the four-team CAA Tournament.
