PHILADELPHIA, PA -- Junior Lindsay Holman scored the lone goal of the game to lead Temple to a 1-0 win over the University of Delaware field hockey team in a non-league matchup Friday afternoon at Geasey Field.
Holman’s seventh goal of the season came with 14:39 remaining in the first half of play. Megan Allen made a career-high 14 saves, while Temple keeper Erin Hanshue made three saves and recorded her second straight shutout.
Temple outshot Delaware, 21-5, and held a 10-3 advantage in penalty corners.
The match marks the 24th meeting between the two teams with the Blue Hens holding a 14-10 all-time advantage.
The Blue Hens drop to 5-4 on the season, while the Owls improve to 3-6.
Delaware returns to action on Sunday when the Blue Hens travel to Hofstra for a 1:00 p.m. game.
