GLEN ALLEN, Va. – University of Delaware field hockey standout Casey Howard has been selected to participate alongside the top seniors in the nation during the prestigious National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior All-Star game.

The contest will be hosted by Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on November 21. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m.

Howard, the first three-time captain in program history, has pieced together a phenomenal senior season that has helped guide the Blue Hens' resurgence. This season, she is tied for second in the conference with 17 goals and ranks third with 37 points.

Last weekend, against Monmouth, she tallied her second hat-trick of the season after scoring all of Delaware’s goals in a 3-0 victory over the Hawks. After also scoring a school-record five goals against Brown earlier in the season, she became just the fourth Blue Hen in program history to record a pair of hat-tricks during a single season.

In her career, Howard has tallied 46 goals, which is tied for third in program history along with current head coach Carol Miller. She also eclipsed the 100-point plateau against Monmouth, becoming only the fourth player in UD history to reach that mark.

Howard is the first Blue Hen to compete in the NFHCA All-Star game since Amanda Warrington in 2007.

Howard will be joined at the competition by six fellow Colonial Athletic Association standouts. James Madison will be represented by Meghan Bain and Kelsey Cutchings, while Towson’s Christina Boarman, William & Mary’s Wesley Drew, Old Dominion’s Kelly Driscoll, and Drexel’s Carolina Gibernau will also be in attendance.
