NEWARK, Del. - The University of Delaware field hockey team is calling on its alumnae to reconnect with the program and participate in a pair of events during the spring.
On March 7, the Blue Hens will host an indoor hockey event at the Delaware Field House from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. (note time change) Alumnae will have the opportunity to compete against Delaware, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association champions, and Syracuse, who advanced to the second round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament under head coach and former Hen Ange Bradley.
Later in the spring, on April 17, the Hens will hold their annual Spring Fling Tournament and Tailgate. Alumnae are encouraged to bring their entire family and participate in the event at Rullo Stadium from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Delaware field hockey fans and alumnae are also asked to support the 2009 CAA champs at the UD women’s basketball game on March 3 at 7 p.m. The Blue Hens will be honored at halftime for their championship season.
