At Delaware: Expected to again start in the Blue Hen backfield. 2008: Started 17 games as a back • tied for the team lead with two assists • fired three shots, all on goal, during her junior campaign • led a defensive unit that allowed two goals or less in 11 of her 17 appearances • assisted on the team’s lone goal against Old Dominion on Oct. 5 • also had a hand in Delaware’s second goal of a 3-2 setback to Towson on Oct. 26 • earned a spot on the NFHCA National Academic All-American team and the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll • selected as Delaware’s Student-Athlete Activities Committee President • earned a nomination for the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award. 2007: One of the top defenders on the team, starting all 19 contests for the Hens • posted three points after notching a goal and an assist • scored her first career goal in the team’s 4-0 victory over No. 13 Ohio State in the season opener (8/25) • tallied her first assist against Saint Joseph’s (9/16) • served as the Delaware representative at the NCAA Leadership Conference • member of the CAA Academic Honor Roll. 2006: Appeared in and started 17 games for Delaware • recorded one shot on the season. 2005: Did not see any game action for Delaware and retained freshman eligibility.

High School: Second team all-state selection in field hockey as a senior • led Caesar Rodney to the conference and state title in 2004 • three-year letterwinner • second team all-conference selection in softball • earned three letters and was a member of the 2003 state championship team • honorable mention all-conference pick in basketball • led Caesar Rodney to the conference championship as a junior and senior • four-year letterwinner and two-year captain • member of National Honor Society and student council • Vice President of Girls Athletic Association • secretary of high school’s chapter of Blue/Gold Club.

Personal: Sonsecharae “Rae” Jamila Everson • born in Sacramento, CA • daughter of George and Sonia Everson • has a younger sister, Jekeijra • athletic training major at Delaware with a minor in strength and conditioning • will serve the 2009-10 athletic year as President of the UD Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
