At Delaware: Expected to again start in the Blue Hen backfield. 2008: One of five Blue Hens to start all 18 games for Delaware • earned Colonial Athletic Association second team honors for her work as a back and midfielder • chipped in with four points after scoring a goal and adding two assists • credited with the game-winning goal after converting Delaware’s final stroke attempt in the shootout against William & Mary on Oct. 3 • also posted an assist on the final goal in regulation against the Tribe that forced the overtime session • posted her second assist of the season two days later against Old Dominion on Oct. 5 • scored her first career goal in the second half against Towson on Oct. 26 • one of only two current Blue Hens, along with Tori Karsten, who has appeared in every game during the past two seasons. 2007: Appeared in all 19 contests while making 18 starts • CAA All-Rookie Team selection • tied for second on the team with four assists • dished out a career-high two assists against Bucknell (9/8) • also posted her first career assist against Kent State (8/26) and later added one against No. 10 Duke (10/20).

High School: District, regional and state Player of the Year as a senior • named first team all-district, all-region, all-state and All-Met • earned second team All-American honors • selected team’s Defensive MVP • led Chancellor High School to the 2006 state championship and to the state finals her first three seasons • was a first team all-district, all-region and all-state honoree as a junior, and was a first team all-district, first team all-region, and second team all-state selection as a sophomore • named second team all-district as a freshman • named second team all-district and team Defensive MVP as a freshman, sophomore and junior in basketball • second team all-district selection as a freshman and sophomore in softball, and earned the team coaches award as a freshman • earned all-district honors and all-region honors in the 4x400 relay and the 800 relay, and was all-state in the 800 relay • leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Personal: Melissa Lorel Woodie • daughter of Kenneth and Robin Woodie • has a sister Danielle, who played field hockey at Longwood University • mother played field hockey and father played football at West Virginia Wesleyan • cousin played soccer at VCU • physical education major at Delaware.
