The No. 15 ranked University of Delaware field hockey team improved to 6-1 and 1-0 in the America East with 5-0 victory Saturday over Hofstra. Rachel Barger opened the scoring 13 minutes into the game. Kelly Cawley scored five minutes later assisted by Barger. Sara Hills closed the first halfscoring an unassisted goal. Jenn Fotiou one-timed a pass from Jodi Byrd three minutes into the second half. Jodi Byrd closed the scoring off a penalty corner. This was Jodi's 30th career goal. Cawley and Juli Byrd, Jodi's sister, had the assists on the goal. Kelly Adams recorded nine saves on the game. Adams needs one save to pass Stacie Indelicarto to move into third on the all-time saves list. Delaware returns to action on Tuesday when they face No.12 ranked University of Maryland at 3:30 p.m. in Rullo Stadium.
