The No. 8 ranked University of Delaware (11-3,
3-0) field hockey lost their second straight game
3-1 to No. 3 ranked Princeton Univeristy (11-0,
5-0). Princeton opened the scoring on a goal by
Alison Morris assisted by Kirsty Hale and Christine
Hunsicker with 22:48 remaining. Delaware responded
less than a minute later with a goal off a penalty
corner. Jodi Byrd (Pocomoke HS, Md.) scored
the goal, she was assisted by Kelly Cawley
(Oley HS, Pa.) and Sara Hills (Alexanderia,
Va./St. Stephen's). Princeton scored the go ahead
goal 15 minutes into the second half. Molly
O'Malley beat goalie Kelly Adams (Patterson,
N.Y./Brewster HS) on a breakaway. The Tigers added
an insurance goal with four remaining off a penalty
corner. Ann Marie Reich scored off assists from
Kirsty Hale and Christine Hunsicker. Adams had 13
saves for the Blue Hens.
