2003: Earned second team All-Atlantic 10 honors at cornerback and as a kick returner in leading Blue Hen to the Atlantic 10 title and NCAA I-AA national title...key performer in one of the nation's top defensive secondary units and one of the nation's most dangerous punt returners...defense ranked fifth in I-AA in scoring defense (15.4) and shut out Colgate 40-0 in national championship game...started all 16 games at cornerback, joining linebackers Mondoe Davis and Mark Moore and safety Kyle Campbell as the only UD defenders to start every game...ranked third on the team in tackles with 84, including a team-high 58 solo stops...had 2.5 tackles for loss, returned two interceptions for 52 yards, had a team-high nine pass breakups, recovered one fumble (vs. William & Mary), forced one fumble (Rhode Island), and blocked one field goal attempt (Hofstra)...ranked second in Atlantic 10 in passes defended (11)...also returned 35 punts for a school record 433 yards (12.4 avg. - ranking second in Atlantic 10, 18th in I-AA) and one touchdown and returned five kickoffs for 134 yards (team-high 26.8 average)...collected five or more tackles seven times with season-high 10 stops each vs. Massachusetts and William & Mary...also had eight stops vs. New Hampshire and Southern Illinois...intercepted a pass 39 yards for a touchdown vs. West Chester and returned a pickoff 13 yards vs. New Hampshire...returned four punts for a school record 127 yards vs. Maine, including an 80-yard return for a touchdown late in the third quarter that keyed the Hens' 24-21 overtime win after trailing at 21-0 at that point...earned Atlantic 10 Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his efforts...80-yard return was the third longest in school history...also had punt returns for 36 and 27 yards vs. Wofford in I-AA semifinals...returned a kickoff 44 yards vs. Massachusetts and had a 26-yard return vs. Northeastern and a 25-yard return vs. Northern Iowa...posted three tackles in spring game...

2002: Enjoyed an outstanding sophomore season...played all four defensive secondary positions and was a valuable team leader for the unit...earned second team All-Atlantic 10 honors...started all 12 games and ranked second on team with 84 tackles, including 63 solo stops...also had 3.5 tackles for losses of 17 yards...also intercepted two passes for 41 yards, broke up five passes, forced one fumble, and blocked a punt...posted five or more tackles 10 times with season-high 12 stops (10 solo) vs. West Chester...also had 10 tackles and three pass breakups vs. Villanova and nine tackles each vs. The Citadel and Maine...enjoyed his finest game of the season in win over No. 5 ranked Maine as he posted nine tackles (eight solo), forced a fumble, and returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown...for his efforts, was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week, Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week, The Sports Network National Defensive I-AA Player of the Week, and ECAC Defensive Player of the Week...had seven tackles, including 2.5 for loss, and blocked a punt vs. Richmond...was pressed into punt return duty when Mike Adams went down with a season-ending hip injury in the season opener vs. Georgia Southern...returned 24 punts for 196 yards and an 8.2 yard average (third in Atlantic 10)...long return was 25 yards vs. Northeastern...excelled in spring testing, leading team in agility (side to side motion) drill (4.01 seconds)...

2001: Enjoyed an outstanding freshman season...became the first defensive player ever to be named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and Eastern College Athletic Conference (All-East) Rookie of the Year...also earned third team All-Atlantic 10 honors following a season that saw him rank third on the team with 68 tackles, including a team-high 58 solo stops... also had five tackles for loss, broke up a team-high four passes, and blocked a kick...intercepted a UD freshman record-tying six passes for 44 yards in return...tied UD freshman interception record set by teammate Dan Mulhern in 1999...ranked second in the Atlantic 10 and No. 10 in NCAA I-AA in interceptions...named Blue Hen Touchdown Club Defensive Player of the Week three times (vs. Georgia Southern, Massachusetts, and Northeastern)...started all 10 games at cornerback...intercepted two passes each in consecutive games vs. Northeastern and New Hampshire...recorded nine or more tackles four times with career-high 15 vs. New Hampshire...had nine stops vs. Hofstra, Richmond, and Villanova...one of two Blue Hen Touchdown Club Most Improved Players at defensive back in spring drills...

2000: Did not see game action and retained freshman eligibility...

High School Honors: Played running back, wide receiver, and defensive back and returned kicks under head coach Dale Wiggins at Woodward Academy...team captain for 10-3 squad...rushed for 1,210 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior and 972 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior...returned two kickoffs and two punts for touchdowns as a senior when he also caught 12 passes for 259 yards...two-time team Most Valuable Player and two-time All-South Fulton County All-Star...Atlanta Journal honorable mention All-State as a senior...Defensive Player of the Year in basketball...

Personal: Sidney Blair "Sid" Haugabrook (pronounced "hog-a-brook")...born March 11, 1982...son of John and Mary Haugabrook...consumer economics major...has worked in UD Catering Department during the summer....Peer Mentor in Delaware's H.E.N.S. (Helping Each Newcomer Succeed) program in which upperclassmen help freshman student-athletes adjust to college life...has also been active with the Police Athletic League...has enjoyed an outstanding career as a sprinter for Delaware track teams under coach Jim Fischer...holds the second best indoor 55 meter time (6.40) in school history and is No. 6 all-time in the indoor 60 meters (7.00) and 200 meters (22.33)...has the No. 8 best outdoor 100 meter time (10.83) in school history...fifth in the 4x100 meter relay (with UD football teammates Roger Brown and Rashaad Woodard) and seventh in the 100 meters at the 2004 Colonial Athletic Association Outdoor Championships...CAA runner-up in the 400 meter relay and was third in the 200 meters as Hens placed second overall during the 2003 outdoor season...two-time IC4A regional qualifier.
