Took over starting kicking duties for
three-year regular and All-Atlantic 10
selection Scott Collins and enjoyed an
outstanding season in leading Hens to NCAA
I-AA national championship...earned third
team AII-Atlantic 10 honors himself after
converting on 64 of 67 extra points and 17
of 24 field goals to rank second on team
with 115 points...tied for Atlantic 10
lead in kick scoring (7.19 per game),
ranked fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 33rd
in I-AA in field goals (1.06 per game),
and was fourth in the Atlantic 10 and 39th
nationally in scoring (7.19 points per
game)...set school records for field goals
in a season (17), field goals attempts in
a game (five vs. New Hampshire), field
goal attempts in a season (24), extra
points in a season (64), and points by
kicking in a season (115), and tied mark
for field goals in a game (three vs. New
Hampshire and Northern Iowa) and extra
point attempts in a season
(67)...converted 17 of 19 extra points and
four of field goals in the
post-season...had consecutive field goal
streaks of six and five during the season
and converted 44 straight extra points
(third longest streak in UD history)
before missing in championship game vs.
Colgate...hit first 17 extra points of
season before missing vs. Hofstra,
snapping a streak of 59 straight extra
points by Blue Hen kickers that dated back
to 2001 season...kicked career-long
42-yard field goal vs. Massachusetts and
added 37-yarders vs. New
Hampshire...missed longest attempt of
season from 47 yards vs. Maine...came back
in that same game to kick winning field
goal with a 36-yarder in the first
overtime period to complete the 24-21
comeback win...kick was first game-winning
field goal by Delaware since Don O'Brien
kicked a game-winning 28-yarder with seven
seconds left to play in a 37-34 win over
Massachusetts in 1987...converted a
career-high seven extra points in win over
Rhode Island and had a career-high 13
total points in wins over Rhode Island and
Northern lowa...consistently had his
kickoffs land at the goal line or in the
end zone...also made three touchdown
saving tackles off kickoffs vs. The
Citadel, Richmond, and William &
Mary...also completed a pass for -1 yard
off a fake field goal vs.
Villanova...converted all three extra
points in spring game but missed on field
goal attempts from 35 and 47
yards...
2002: Was
eligible to play immediately per NCAA
transfer rules aftetransferring from
Louisville where he was a two-year team
member...earned letter despite playing in
just two games...did not attempt a
placement, but kicked off twice in the
season opener vs. Georgia Southern (kicked
to nine and three-yard lines) and kicked
off three times vs. Maine (including two
to the goal-line)...registered a tackle
vs. Georgia Southern...At Louisville:
Two-year team member at Louisville under
head coach John Smith...teammate at
Louisville of current UD senior linebacker
Ryan McDermond...
2001:
Backup kicker for team that went 11-2 and
defeated Brigham Young 28-10 in the
Liberty Bowl...team was ranked as high as
No. 16 nationally during the
season...
2000:
Did not see game action and retained
freshman eligibility...team went 9-3 and
lost in the Liberty Bowl...
