CAPE COD, Mass. -- University of Delaware junior quarterback Pat Devlin, who led the Blue Hen football team to a 43-27 upset victory over then No. 12 University of Massachusetts Saturday night, has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Football Championship Subdivision Offensive Player of the Week.
Devlin (at right), a native of Downingtown, Pa. (Downingtown East High School), earned his second honor of the week after being named the Colonial Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week on Monday.
He will lead the No. 23 ranked Blue Hens (4-2, 2-2 CAA) into action this Saturday when Delaware travels to Towson (2-3, 1-1 CAA).
Devlin had another outstanding effort as he led the Blue Hens’ 43-27 upset win over Massachusetts Saturday. He led an offense that piled up 411 total yards as he completed 19 of 26 passes for 284 yards and a season-high four touchdowns, hitting Mark Duncan on scoring throws of 22 and 27 yards while also hooking up on scoring tosses to Mark Mackey and Trevor Mooney.
The ECAC covers all schools in the East from Maine to Virginia. In addition to Devlin, New Hampshire senior linebacker Terrence Klein and Monmouth sophomore safety Josh Gumbs were named the ECAC Co-Defensive Players of the Week.
