NEWARK, Del. -- Despite being idle last week, the University of Delaware football team continued to climb in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision national polls announced Monday afternoon, moving up to No. 16 in The Sports Network poll and to No. 18 in the FCS Coaches Poll

Defending NCAA national champion Richmond (7-0) remained undefeated on the season with a win over Massachusetts and stayed at the top spot in both poll. A total of six Colonial Athletic Association teams remain ranked in the Top 20, the most of any league in the nation.

The Blue Hens (5-2, 3-2 CAA) rested up last week following a three-game win streak that saw Delaware storm past CAA foes Maine, Massachusetts, and Towson. This week, Delaware will take on a James Madison (2-5, 0-4 CAA) team that was ranked in the Top 20 for most of this season before suffering a four-game losing streak, including a 24-3 setback to No. 5 William & Mary Saturday.

The Homecoming game set for 12 noon at Delaware Stadium will be televised live regionally and in the New England area on The Comcast Network. A near sellout crowd is expected to be on hand as the Hens look to down the Dukes for the seventh straight time in Newark.

Delaware, looking to extend its longest winning streak since opening the 2007 season with five straight wins, moved up three spots from 19 in The Sports Network poll and five spots from No. 23 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

Richmond earned 128 first place votes in the TSN poll to remain atop the rankings and was followed by Montana (seven first place votes), Southern Illinois (two), Villanova (one), William & Mary, Elon, Appalachian State, New Hampshire, South Dakota State, and South Carolina State (one) in the Top 10. Stephen F. Austin was ranked No. 11 followed by Northern Iowa, McNeese State, Weber State, Central Arkansas, Delaware, Holy Cross, Cal Poly, Massachusetts, Eastern Illinois, Northern Arizona, Jacksonville State, Liberty, Colgate, and Prairie View A&M.

In the FCS Coaches Poll, Richmond remained at No. 1, earning all 28 first place votes. Montana was at No. 2 followed by Southern Illinois, Villanova, William & Mary, Elon, New Hampshire, Appalachian State, South Dakota State, South Carolina State, McNeese State, Central Arkansas, Weber State, Northern Iowa, Stephen F. Austin, Cal Poly, Holy Cross, Delaware, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, Eastern Washington, Northern Arizona, Massachusetts, Liberty, Colgate, and Prairie View A&M.
