NEWARK, Del. -- The University of Delaware, which dropped a tough 35-18 setback to Texas Bowl-bound Navy Saturday in Annapolis, Md., fell two spots in The Sports Network poll and dropped out the Football Championship Subdivision Coaches rankings announced Monday afternoon.

The Blue Hens (6-4, 4-3 Colonial Athletic Association), who were at No. 23 in both polls last week, fell to No. 25 in the TSN poll, earning 313 points, and dropped out of the coaches poll. Delaware was the top vote-getter for teams not in the Top 25 in the FCS poll with 35 votes, just missing the No. 25 spot by seven points.

Delaware will close out its regular season this Saturday when the Hens travel just north to take on long-time rival and CAA-leading Villanova (9-1, 6-1 CAA) at 3:30 p.m. at Villanova Stadium. The Hens will need a victory to keep their slim post-season chances alive. Villanova is ranked No. 2 nationally by TSN and No. 3 by the coaches.

In addition to the two national polls, Delaware remained at No. 9 for the third straight week in the Meadowlands Lambert Cup Eastern poll announced on Saturday. Villanova remained at No. 1 followed by Richmond, William & Mary, New Hampshire, Holy Cross, Lafayette, Penn, Colgate, Delaware, Harvard, and James Madison.

In the TSN poll, Southern Illinois held the top spot for the second straight week with 49 first place votes and 3,278 points overall followed by Villanova (38 first place votes), Montana (45), Richmond, William & Mary, Appalachian State (3), South Carolina State (2), McNeese State, Northern Iowa, and Elon in the top 10. New Hampshire was 11th followed by South Dakota State, Holy Cross, Eastern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, Liberty, Jacksonville State, Eastern Washington, Weber State, Prairie View A&M, Lafayette, Colgate, Montana State, Penn, and Delaware.
